Key takeaways
- Disclosure: Jobspiq publishes this comparison and is one of the tools in it. We describe other products only from their own public pages, as of October 2026.
- The large portals (LinkedIn, Naukri) have the most jobs, but their email alerts are digests: daily or weekly on LinkedIn, a few times a week on Naukri.
- Instahyre, Cutshort and Wellfound work best as profiles that recruiters find; they are free for candidates.
- Prefetch, Jobrix and Jobspiq focus on speed: they read job sources frequently and alert you soon after a new job is found.
- Most developers do best with two tools: one large portal for reach and one fast alert service for the companies they care about.

Quick answer: use one large portal for reach (LinkedIn or Naukri) and one fast alert service for the companies you care about. Which fast service suits you depends on where it looks for jobs and how it reaches you: email, app push or Telegram.

The large portals
The widest set of jobs and the most recruiters. A job alert is created from any search; by default it sends a daily email plus app notifications, and you can switch email to weekly (LinkedIn Help). Email alerts are a digest, not instant.
Naukri
The largest Indian job portal by volume, strong for IT services and large employers. Alerts are saved from a search and, per Naukri’s FAQ, emailed a few times a week; app notifications are configurable (Naukri FAQ).
Profiles that recruiters find
Instahyre
Free for job seekers. Its matching curates openings for your profile and lets matched recruiters contact you; it says it does not allow mass emails (Instahyre Help). Often recommended for mid-level engineers.
Cutshort
Free for candidates, focused on tech and product roles. You build a profile; Cutshort matches it to employers and shows recommended jobs (Cutshort FAQ). Strong for startups.
Wellfound
Formerly AngelList Talent. Free for candidates, with job alerts by email and many India and remote startup roles (Wellfound India).
Hirist
A free, tech-only job board for India, with an Android app (hirist.tech). Useful when you want listings without non-tech noise.
Search everything at once
Google job search
Searching for a role on Google shows a jobs panel gathered from many sites. Signed in, you can turn on email alerts for that search (Google Help). Good for breadth; you still apply on the original site.
Built for speed
Prefetch
Reads company career pages and ATS boards (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and others) for engineering roles, says it checks about every 15 minutes, and alerts by email. Paid plans start at ₹99 a month (Prefetch pricing).
Jobrix
Ranked job alerts on Telegram. Its free tier lists up to 10 alerts a day with a 2-hour delay; Pro, at ₹349 a month, lists faster Telegram alerts, more alerts a day and AI fit explanations (Jobrix pricing).
Jobspiq (ours)
Reads employer ATS boards (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, Darwinbox, Keka and others) and job portals about every 30 minutes, scores each new tech job in India against your skills and experience, and sends matches to the Android app, your browser or Telegram, usually within a minute of finding them; email comes as a daily digest. In our own measurement the median time from an employer publishing a job to Jobspiq finding it was about 6 minutes on Greenhouse and 12 on Ashby (method). It also includes an application tracker and resume tailoring. Free plan; Pro is ₹299 a month, and every Pro feature is free while Jobspiq is in beta (pricing).
Where others are better: LinkedIn and Naukri have far more jobs and recruiters; Instahyre and Cutshort bring recruiters to you, which Jobspiq does not do for candidates; Jobspiq covers tech jobs in India only.
How to choose
- Fresher or early career: Naukri and LinkedIn for volume, plus fast alerts for product companies. See software engineer jobs for freshers.
- Mid-level, want recruiters to come to you: Instahyre or Cutshort, plus LinkedIn.
- Targeting specific product companies: a service that reads ATS boards, with push or Telegram alerts.
- Remote roles: Wellfound and remote filters, checking each job is open to India. See remote tech jobs open to India.
