How to Find Tech Jobs Before They Reach the Big Job Boards (India, 2026)

Most tech jobs are published on the employer’s own careers page first. Where to look, how to search ATS boards like Greenhouse and Lever directly, and how to get alerted the moment a job goes live.

Key takeaways

  • A job cannot be found before it is posted, but it is usually posted on the employer’s own careers page or applicant tracking system (ATS) before it spreads to LinkedIn, Naukri and other boards.
  • Most product companies and startups publish jobs on an ATS: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Workday, Darwinbox, Keka or Zoho Recruit. These boards can be searched directly with Google.
  • Checking boards by hand does not scale past a handful of companies. An alert tool that reads the boards for you is the practical way to be early.
  • In Jobspiq’s own measurements, the median time from an employer publishing a job to Jobspiq finding it was about 6 minutes on Greenhouse and 12 minutes on Ashby.

Quick answer: you cannot see a job before the employer publishes it, but you can see it where it is published first. For most tech jobs that is the company’s own careers page or applicant tracking system (ATS), hours or days before it spreads across LinkedIn, Naukri and other boards. Watch those boards, directly or with an alert tool that reads them for you.

1. Where a tech job appears first

When a company opens a role, a recruiter creates it in the company’s ATS. The ATS publishes it on the company’s careers page straight away. Copies on other sites come later: the company may post it on LinkedIn or Naukri, the job may be pulled in by aggregators, or a recruiter may share it.

The ATS boards you will meet most in India:

  • Greenhouse (boards.greenhouse.io, job-boards.greenhouse.io): global and product companies.
  • Lever (jobs.lever.co): product companies and startups.
  • Ashby (jobs.ashbyhq.com): newer startups.
  • SmartRecruiters and Workday (myworkdayjobs.com): larger companies and enterprises.
  • Darwinbox, Keka and Zoho Recruit: widely used by Indian companies.

2. Search ATS boards directly

Google indexes these boards. Combine the board’s domain with a role and a location:

  • site:boards.greenhouse.io "India" "backend engineer"
  • site:jobs.lever.co "Bengaluru" "data engineer"
  • site:jobs.ashbyhq.com "Remote" "India" "frontend"
  • site:myworkdayjobs.com "Hyderabad" "SDE"

Use Google’s Tools → Past 24 hours filter to see only recent pages. Expect some closed jobs: a board page can stay in Google’s index after the job is filled.

3. Follow the companies you actually want

Make a short list of 20–30 target companies and bookmark their careers pages. Many careers pages let you subscribe to new openings by email. Following the company on LinkedIn also surfaces jobs it posts there.

4. Get referrals before a role is public

Teams often know about an opening before it is published. Former colleagues, alumni and people you have helped are the best early signal. Ask specifically: “Is your team planning to hire a backend engineer this quarter?” is easier to answer than “Any openings?”.

5. Let a tool read the boards for you

Checking 30 careers pages every day by hand does not last. Alert services differ mainly in where they look and how they tell you:

  • Where: services that read employer ATS boards see jobs at the source; services that only re-list portal jobs see them later.
  • How: push alerts (app, browser, Telegram) arrive when the job is found. Email alerts are usually a digest: LinkedIn sends them daily or weekly, Naukri a few times a week.

How quickly this can work: in our own measurement of jobs posted in the 14 days to 12 October 2026, the median time from an employer publishing a job to Jobspiq finding it was about 6 minutes on Greenhouse and 12 minutes on Ashby (full method and numbers). Jobspiq checks its sources about every 30 minutes and sends a match usually within a minute of finding it.

6. Be ready when the alert arrives

Being early only helps if you can apply well within the day. Keep a master resume with every project and metric, so tailoring it to a job takes minutes, not an evening (how to tailor a resume to a job description).

Common questions

How do I find jobs before they are posted on job boards in India?

Watch where jobs are published first: company careers pages and the applicant tracking systems behind them (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, Darwinbox and others). Search those boards directly with queries such as site:boards.greenhouse.io "India" "backend", follow the companies you want, ask for referrals before roles are public, and use an alert service that reads ATS boards and notifies you as soon as a new matching job appears.

How do I get job alerts as soon as jobs are posted?

Use alerts that read employer career boards rather than only aggregator listings, and choose a push channel (app, browser or Telegram) over email, which most services send as a daily or weekly digest. LinkedIn emails alerts daily or weekly, Naukri a few times a week; services that read ATS boards directly, such as Jobspiq, check about every 30 minutes and push a match usually within a minute of finding it.

Is it really possible to see a job before it is posted?

Not before the employer publishes it. What is possible is seeing it on the employer’s own board before it has been picked up, reposted or promoted on large job portals, which is where most applicants find it.

Which ATS boards are used most in India?

Greenhouse and Lever are common at global and product companies, Darwinbox and Keka at many Indian companies, Workday and Oracle at large enterprises, and Ashby at newer startups. Many Indian IT services firms run their own careers portals.

Does applying early actually help?

Recruiters often review applications in the order they arrive and may stop reviewing once they have enough strong candidates, so an early, well-matched application is more likely to be read. We have not measured how much it helps, and nobody can promise a number.

How does Jobspiq find jobs early?

It reads employer ATS boards and job portals about every 30 minutes, scores each new job against your profile, and sends matches to the Android app, your browser or Telegram, usually within a minute of finding them. Email alerts arrive as a daily digest.
