Most Indian tech employers do not put pay in the job posting. Of 52,813 active tech postings Jobspiq saw in the last 90 days, only 390 (0.74%) state a salary. This article uses only those 390 employer-stated salaries. Jobspiq’s own estimates for postings without a salary are not used. How many postings state a salary?
About 99.26% do not. Of the 390 that do, 378 are LinkedIn postings and 12 are Naukri postings. 2 values were removed as implausible. The median stated salary is ₹15.0 LPA, and half of stated salaries fall between ₹7.5 and ₹26.4 LPA. Each salary is the midpoint of the stated range, in lakh rupees per year.

0–1 years: median ₹5.3 LPA (middle half ₹3.5–₹8.5 LPA, 32 stated salaries); 2–4 years: median ₹13.5 LPA (middle half ₹8.3–₹20.3 LPA, 143 stated salaries); 5–8 years: median ₹21.5 LPA (middle half ₹15.0–₹32.5 LPA, 121 stated salaries); 9+ years: median ₹35.0 LPA (middle half ₹23.1–₹51.3 LPA, 26 stated salaries). Median pay rises at every step, which is what you would expect and a useful sign that the stated figures are sensible. Experience is the minimum number of years the posting asks for.

What this data can and cannot tell you
- Employers who state pay are not a random sample. The figures describe postings that publish a salary, not every tech job.
- Postings are not offers. A stated range is what the employer advertises, not what a candidate is paid.
- Samples are small. Every row shows how many stated salaries stand behind it. Treat the numbers as indicative, especially the 9+ years row.
- Estimates are excluded. Job cards on Jobspiq may show an estimated range marked with a tilde (~). Those estimates are not part of any statistic here.
